On October 16, 2019, College of Pharmacy, GMU conducted a Seminar by Dr. Bärbel Holbein from Germany. The Seminar discussed on various aspects related to Drug Development in transformative times. On her visit, Dr. Holbein visited the newly open Thumbay University Hospital in Thumbay Medicity, Ajman.
Dr. Holbein spent two decades of clinical development and international marketing of innovative drugs with a focus on late-phase development and market access in various disease areas, e.g. oncology and CNS. Currently lecturing Innovation on Biopharmaceutical Industry, Pharmaceutical Economics, Innovation- and R&D Management in Healthcare, and Product Lifecycle Management. Her overall research is on Access to Innovation.
Faculty and students from different Colleges in GMU participated in this interactive Seminar with active discussion. It is exciting to know how the current strategies in drug development influence the product lifecycle. New models are required to improve access to innovative health technology.
