On the 4th of July 2019, ten of our PharmD students from GMU College of Pharmacy participated in an Open House Event organized by Sandoz, a division of Novartis specialized in generic and biosimilar medicines. The main purpose of the Open House was to explain the multidimensional roles and responsibilities of pharmacists in Sandoz.
Commenting on the experience, students said that it gave them a chance to explore career prospects within a pharmaceutical company and to enhance their professional links among pharmacists working in the industry.
Dean Sherief Khalifa commented: It is important for our students to engage with potential employers early in their studies. This serves as an eye opener for them and helps them as they decide on their career goals and the areas of pharmacy that matches their interests and talents. Such activities are part of our career counseling program at Gulf Medical University.
