
Based on an MoU between Gulf Medical University (GMU) and Ajman University (AU) a group of high caliber Master’s students concluded their clinical pharmacy training at Thumbay Hospital Ajman under the supervision of GMU College of Pharmacy. A team of GMU faculty and clinical pharmacy preceptors provided a structured clinical training program tailored to the needs of Ajman University Master’s students.
The College of Pharmacy provides direct patient care training in infectious diseases, cardiology, pediatrics, critical care, and internal medicine. Hands-on training in antimicrobial stewardship, pharmacovigilance, and physical assessment are also part of the clinical training program.

The Clinical Training includes training and evaluation of students on clinical pharmacy services like;
- History interview and medication reconciliation
- Screening for drug-related problems and report/solve them
- Patient counseling of all kinds including discharge counseling and medication reconciliation
- Drug information and any knowledge support to health professionals
Dean Sherief Khalifa commented: It is part of our mission at the College of Pharmacy to educate and train pharmacy students and graduates on clinical pharmacy competencies in an advanced healthcare environment.
