Classes on Research from Washington State University, USA for GMU Master in Clinical Pharmacy Students

Master in Clinical Pharmacy (MCP) students at GMU participated in a class by Dr. Kimberly McKeirnan from Washington State University (WSU) on Methodology for Pharmacy Practice Research. The session was held on March 20, 2019. Dr. McKeirnan is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Washington State University, USA. She is a winner of 2019 Distinguished Achievement Award in Pharmacy Practice from the American Pharmacists Association. On March 13, 2019, Prof. Danial Baker and his students conducted an interactive session with GMU students on techniques used in the literature review, information appraisal, and proper citation. Prof. Baker is Professor of Pharmacotherapy and Director, Drug Information Center, College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Washington State University, USA.

MCP program at GMU is offered in collaboration with Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), USA and Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Professors from other USA Universities are also contributing to the MCP program. More Classes from VCU are scheduled in May 2019.

Students reviewed a few articles shared by Dr. McKeirnan before the Class. The classes were conducted utilizing a distance learning approach and the sessions were live allowing full range of interaction including discussions, questions, and answers.
