On May 19, 2025, the College of Pharmacy at Gulf Medical University (GMU), in strategic collaboration with Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), proudly hosted a high-impact academic event titled “HIV/Infectious Disease Clinic” by Dr. Stephanie Kirk. This initiative represents a significant step forward in GMU’s steadfast commitment to advancing clinical pharmacy education and practice at both regional and international levels.

The Spotlight event drew an impressive audience of over 100 participants from the United Arab Emirates, across the Arab region, and several Asian countries. This strong turnout not only underscores the event’s wide-reaching influence but also highlights GMU’s dedication to pharmacy professional advancement.
Participants appreciated the Spotlight for its exceptional educational content, particularly the in-depth discussions on the management of HIV pharmacotherapy—a critical focus area in clinical pharmacy practice. Beyond knowledge dissemination, the event fostered a dynamic exchange of ideas, allowing healthcare professionals and students to share experiences, address pressing clinical/emotional challenges, and explore collaborative approaches to improving patient care and safety.
The success of this event further solidifies the fruitful partnership between GMU and MUSC, reinforcing their shared vision of elevating global standards in healthcare education. With continued collaboration, both institutions remain poised to lead impactful initiatives that shape the future of clinical pharmacy and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of health outcomes.
