On January 26, 2025, GPSA hosted an inspiring Leadership Pearls webinar. Organized by the External Relations Committee, led by Ms. Ruqaiya Sahrish, the event aimed to cultivate leadership skills and foster meaningful connections among healthcare professionals and students. Dr. Ahmad El Ouweini, the GPSA Faculty Advisor, delivered an engaging introductory note, while GPSA President Nikita provided an overview of the association and its mission. Moderators Fathima Zulfa and Suha Ahmed, both members of the External Relations Committee, ensured the smooth flow of the event, contributing to its overall success.

The webinar featured an impressive lineup of speakers, including Dr. Yifan Zhou, President of the International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (IPSF); Ms. Rara Haddad, Regional Projects Officer of IPSF-EMRO (Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office); Dr. Mohammed Majdoub, Former GPSA President; and special guest Dr. Ossama Tabbara, Founder and President of IVPN-Network. These distinguished experts shared valuable insights on key leadership topics such as change management, strategic decision-making, and eye-to-eye leadership.
One of the event’s highlights was its interactive structure, which kept participants actively engaged throughout the session. The program commenced with a 40-minute presentation during which the speakers shared their leadership experiences and strategies. This was followed by a 15-minute Q&A session, where attendees had the opportunity to directly interact with the panelists and address their queries.
The webinar also featured Breakout rooms, designed to encourage collaboration and hands-on problem-solving. Participants were divided into three groups, each guided by an assigned speaker. Over 30 minutes, the groups worked together to address real-world challenges, fostering teamwork and critical thinking. Following the workshops, all participants reconvened for a 20-minute group solution sharing session, where teams presented their findings and received constructive feedback from the speakers.
The Leadership Pearls webinar successfully bridged the gap between aspiring leaders and industry experts, offering a balanced blend of theoretical knowledge and practical application. By empowering participants with essential leadership skills, the event fulfilled its mission of inspiring personal and professional growth within the healthcare community.
