GMU Pharmacy Students’ Association Join Hands to Raise Awareness for International Day for Persons with Disabilities

In honor of International Day for Persons with Disabilities 2024, Nikita Sunil Binu, a 4th year Pharm.D. student and President of the GMU Pharmacy Student Association (GPSA), represented GPSA in an international collaboration with other pharmacy students association from different countries (namely LPSA-Lebanon, ATEP-Tunisia, JPSA-Jordan, PSFNNU-Palestine, and ASPSA-Egypt). This awareness campaign aimed to raise awareness and advocate for inclusivity through impactful storytelling and advocacy.

The participating organizations contributed to the project by co-authoring the magazine Unseen Strength: Voices that Inspire, Stories that Echo, which highlights real-life stories of resilience and courage from across the region as well as share wellness tips for caregivers and individuals with disabilities.

The awareness campaign also featured a video emphasizing the importance of empowerment and inclusion, echoing the collective mission to amplify the voices of those with disabilities and foster a world where inclusivity thrives.
