On Wednesday, September 25th, Gulf Medical University hosted a White Coat Ceremony, officially welcoming the freshmen into the realm of pharmacy education. The occasion was distinguished by the presence of Dr. Thumbay Moideen, Founder and President of the Thumbay Group.
The event began with an uplifting speech by Prof. Manda Venkatramana, Vice Chancellor of Academics, who warmly congratulated the new students and their families. He underscored the importance of the White Coat Ceremony as a pivotal milestone, marking the students’ formal initiation into their future healthcare careers.

A key moment of the ceremony was the impactful speech delivered by Professor Hossam Hamdy, Chancellor of Gulf Medical University. Following the pledge, the freshmen were called upon to receive their white coats, marking a key moment in the ceremony. The coats were handed by Dr. Thumbay Moideen, the Founder and President of the Thumbay Group; Professor Hossam Hamdy, Chancellor of Gulf Medical University; Professor Manda Venkatramana, Vice Chancellor of Academics; and Professor Muhammad Al-Shorbagy, Dean of the College of Pharmacy.
The event wrapped up with cheerful group photos of the students alongside faculty and university leaders, capturing the excitement and optimism as they embark on their new journey in pharmacy.
