GMU College of Pharmacy Prof. Shery Jacob Named Among Top 2% Scientists Worldwide for Third Consecutive Year

Stanford University, in collaboration with SciTech Strategies Inc. and Elsevier’s Research Intelligence division, releases the 2024 annual global database of standardized citation metrics, ranking scientists across all disciplines. Using data from the Elsevier Scopus abstract and citation database, this ranking evaluates researchers’ impact in 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields based on a composite citation index, offering an updated annual assessment of scholarly influence.

The 2024 edition of this prestigious list, published in Plos Biology Journal, once again includes Professor Shery Jacob, Professor of Pharmaceutics at the College of Pharmacy, Gulf Medical University. This marks the third year in a row that Professor Jacob has been ranked among the top 2% of scientists worldwide. With 75 Scopus-indexed publications in the fields of Pharmacy and Pharmacology, his current h-index on Scopus is 28, with a total of 2,571 citations, while his Google Scholar h-index is 34, with 5,431 citations across.
