Between March 28 and 30, The International Pharmaceutical Student Federation organized Career Path Webinar Series. These series create a gate for student pharmacists to explore the wide range of career paths in Pharmacy and a chance to have unparalleled understanding of each career. On one of the sessions, March 29th, Dr. Ahmad El Ouweini, Clinical Lecturer, GMU College of Pharmacy and Critical Care Clinical Pharmacist, Preceptor at Thumbay University Hospital, was invited as a panelist to be part of an online panel discussion to over 200 students from all over the world. During this online, interactive discussion, Dr. El Ouweini along with other 2 experts from USA and Egypt, explained the vital role of ICU clinical pharmacy in the healthcare system, the ICU pharmacist’s role in the antibiotic selection and IV mixing, their role in developing quality improvement projects to the ICU, and reducing medications errors and costs to patients and the hospitals.
