GMU PharmD Student Rand Rabadi: A World Citizen Demonstrating Leadership and Global Awareness

Rand Rabadi, third year Pharm.D student, has been actively attending conferences for the past six years to broaden her knowledge and stay up-to-date with the latest global issues, thus taking part in the Model United Nations (MUN) and Model Congress (MC). Having attended over 25 conferences so far, her most recent conference was held on the weekend of March 17-19 at the American University in Dubai (AUD), and she found it to be an informative and engaging experience. She was responsible for the UN Women’s committee where they tackled important issues happening worldwide. During the sessions, moderated causes were issued, resolutions were drafted & passed and crises averted.

Additionally, in 2022, Rand won the “Best Moderator Award” for her exceptional skills in leading discussions and ensuring that all delegates had a chance to voice their opinions.

Overall, Rand absolutely loves being a student at the College of Pharmacy at Gulf Medical University but has a firm belief that attending conferences such as MUN is an important part of her professional development, even if it was done as a side hobby. She believes that it provides great insight into today’s world, leaving one more aware and educated; Rand looks forward to continuing to participate in them in the future.
