Over 150 participants from multiple countries, especially the Middle East, attended the preceptor showcase 2. Participants included pharmacists from community and hospital settings as well as clinical pharmacists. In addition, pharmacy academicians participated in the session, especially those involved in experiential education.

Prof. Sherief Khalifa, Dean College of Pharmacy, Gulf Medical University commented; “Preceptors are vital partners in pharmacy education as they deliver at least 20% of the pharmacy curriculum. It is the responsibility of Colleges of Pharmacy to reach out to the many excellent pharmacy practitioners and recruit them as preceptors. It is also of paramount importance that we create opportunities for preceptor development. Our ultimate goal is to graduate pharmacists who are practice ready, team ready and preceptor ready who will provide the best care to their patients.”
