College of Pharmacy Research Seminar On Potential Therapy For PCOS Patients with Early-Stage Endometrial Carcinoma

On March 13th, Dr. Dalia A. Gaber, Associate Professor of Medical Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at the College of Medicine, Gulf Medical University, delivered a research seminar titled: “Diane-35 and Metformin Induce Autophagy and Apoptosis in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Women with Early-Stage Endometrial Carcinoma”.

The seminar was attended by faculty members of the pharmaceutical sciences department and candidates of the master of drug discovery and development at the College of Pharmacy.

Dr. Gaber shared her findings on the combined therapy of Diane-35 and metformin, which can suppress disease progression in polycystic ovary syndrome patients with early-stage endometrial carcinoma.

During her talk, Dr. Gaber explained that the combination therapy inhibited proliferative activity and promoted apoptosis in endometrial carcinoma cells. She also highlighted the role of the PI3K/mTORC pathway in inducing endometrial carcinoma and how combination therapy could affect it.

The seminar was well-received by attendees, who appreciated the insightful discussion and potential implications for future research in the field of endometrial carcinoma treatment.
