GMU Pharmacy Students Shine at the International Conference for Pharmacy Students at the University of Sharjah

GMU College of Pharmacy participated in the First International Conference for Pharmacy Students which was held during March 20 and 21 at the University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The conference was under the slogan “Promoting Sustainability in Pharmacy”. The conference aim was to educate students about the pharmacy job market, and to higlight the role in sustainability in the pharmacy profession. Students at the College of Pharmacy (COP) Gulf Medical University participated in this conference through a Patient Counseling Competition and an Awareness Video Competition. Furthermore, GMU Master in Clinical Pharmacy, and PharmD. students presented their research and thesis projects through an active engagement in student poster sessions.

Dr. Diana Malaeb from the COP was honored to receive an appreciation due to her contribution and efforts in orienting, guiding, and advising the students through their participation in the competitions.  Our PharmD students won the second-place award in the “Best Patient Counseling Competition” among all students from the Colleges of Pharmacy in the United Arab Emirates.
