On Monday, March 20, 2023, Ms. Hadil Rabaah took her first steps towards her master’s thesis titled: “Evaluation of the Possible Neuroprotective Effects of Glucagon-Like Peptide-1 Agonist on Dementia-Like Symptoms Experimentally Induced in Rats”.
Thanks to the collaboration between Gulf Medical University (GMU) and RAK Medical & Health Sciences University, Ms. Hadil and her supervisor, Dr. Muhammed Abdullatif, Associate Professor of Pharmacology at the College of Pharmacy, GMU, began her research training for her GMU Master of Science Degree in Drug Discovery and Development.

Dr. Abdullatif commented: “Hadil’s research is a great example of the kind of cutting-edge work that can be accomplished through collaboration between different institutions. We look forward to seeing the results of her research, which will undoubtedly contribute to the advancement of drug discovery and development in the field of pharmacology.

Dean Sherief Khalifa commented: “The collaboration between GMU and RAK represents a good model for maximum utilization of available resources. This approach minimizes underutilization of resources and avoids wasting available funds on unnecessary duplication of equipment and facilities. The outcome is undoubtedly an enhanced research experience for our students, higher quality research with global impact and graduates with international caliber”.
