GMU’s Dr. Muhammad Al-Shorbagy Delivers an Online Session: “ChatGPT and AI Writing Tools” to Academicians

On Sunday, March 12th, Gulf Medical University’s College of Pharmacy Associate Dean Academics, Dr. Muhammad Al-Shorbagy, was featured on the Voice of Higher Education platform hosted by the Center for Learning Innovations & Customized Knowledge Solutions (CLICKS). The online session was titled; “ChatGPT and AI writing tools: What’s in it for academicians. Unleashing your personal assistant”.

The session highlighted the importance of being AI-ready in academia and shared best practices using the ChatGPT AI bot.

During the session, Dr. Al-Shorbagy covered three main domains: 1) course material, rubrics, & MCQS; 2) Research assistance; and 3) Admin assistance with daily academic tasks. Attendees engaged in a Q&A session, prompting further discussion and exchange of ideas.

The archived session is available for members to access at their convenience, providing a valuable resource for faculty members to explore and utilize technological advancements to enhance their teaching, research, and administrative tasks.
