On November 1st, 2022, Ms. Nusaiba Babiker, Master of Science in Drug Discovery and Development student, College of Pharmacy, GMU presented in the 8th International Electronic Conference in Medicinal Chemistry, by professional poster entitled “In silico Fragment-Based Drug Design & Molecular Docking of Tranilast Analogues as Potential Inhibitors of Transforming Growth Factor- β Receptor type 1”. The project demonstrated a work frame explaining the utilization of computer-aided drug design techniques to study the binding interaction of the newly designed Tranilast analogues and to identify possible inhibitors that could bind to TGF-βR1 with high affinity and better inhibitory activities.

The 8th International Electronic Conference on Medicinal Chemistry is a well-recognized peer reviewed conference held as a part of the International Electronic Conference on Medicinal Chemistry series organized by MDPI publisher and by Pharmaceuticals Journal. The student’s submission is expected to be published in the proceedings in a dedicated volume in the MDPI Medical Sciences Forum journal.
