PharmD (Doctor of Pharmacy) students attended orientation sessions for the 10 months intensive journey of Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE). APPE consists of 6 compulsory and 4 elective rotations, with the Clinical seminar being longitudinal throughout the rotations.

Beforehand, Introductory sessions were conducted by preceptors on the Use of UpTodate, Drug Information resources and Journal Club. 7thof September marks the orientation day, students were addressed by Dean Prof Sherief Khalifa and TUH Medical Director Dr. Fozi Dakilah. Followed by sessions on Moodle, Assessment in APPE, Guidelines and Policies, Prescribing skills assessment: Overview and Expectations, Reflective writing for e-Portfolio.

APPE students are privileged to be trained in Thumbay University Hospital (TUH), Thumbay Clinics and pharmacies throughout UAE in addition to various external sites such as Sheikh Khalifa Medical City Ajman, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Virginia Commonwealth University USA, Washington State University USA and Medical College of Wisconsin USA.
