MoU Signing Ceremony and Collaborative Projects with the University of Bradford

On February 22, 2022, the College of Pharmacy had the pleasure of hosting three distinguished guests from the University of Bradford: Dr. Sherif El-Khamisy (Associate Dean- Research and Knowledge Transfer), Dr. Mohamed Isreb (Associate Dean International), and Dr. Mohamed Ismat (Director of Dubai Regional Hub). The MoU signing ceremony was attended virtually by Dr. Alastair Goldman (Dean of Faculty of Life Sciences). From Gulf Medical University Chancellor Hossam Hamdy, Vice Chancellor Academics (Professor Manda), Vice Chancellor Quality & Global Engagement and Dean College of Pharmacy (Prof. Sherief) and Associate Dean academics-College of Pharmacy (Prof. Ahmed Al-Abd), attended the signing ceremony.

The main objective of the MoU is to develop academic and cultural exchange between both institutions in areas of education and research. The signing of the MoU opens doors for faculty from both institutions to engage in collaborative research and faculty and student exchange. The agreement also emphasizes knowledge transfer and sharing of best practices.

After the signing of the MoU, Dr. El-Khamisy gave a research seminar on his latest projects, including collaborative work with GMU, and a brief introduction on the implementation of zebrafish in genomic research.

Following his research seminar, Dr. El-Khamisy engaged with undergraduate and postgraduate students who are currently undertaking research projects at GMU. The interaction was an excellent motivation for GMU students to learn, grow and become the future scientists of UAE.
