GMU College of Pharmacy Experiential Education Advisory Committee Meeting 2022

On January 20, 2022, the GMU College of Pharmacy Experiential Education Advisory Committee convened to discuss action plans to improve the experiential education components of the various college programs including the PharmD program. The meeting included plans for the strategic plan (2023- 2028). The diversity of committee members in terms of the different health professions as well as local and international members helped enrich the discussion and share the different views and experiences. Among the topics discussed were:

  • The length, grading and evaluation in experiential education
  • Using experiential education for summative assessment of program learning outcomes
  • Academic APPE

Vice Chancellor and Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Prof. Sherief Khalifa and Associate Dean Clinical Dr. Dixon Thomas appreciated committee members’ valuable inputs in suggesting areas of improvements in experiential education and focus for strategic plan 2023-2028.
