On November 07 and 14, 2021, UAE National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) President Dr. Reema Alhosani delivered educational sessions and hands-on training on anti-doping. Dr. Reema covered the following topics:
- UAE NADA structure and function.
- UAE National Anti-Doping rules.
- Doping testing in UAE.
- Plan for testing, risk assessment and testing personnel.
Hands-on training included a visit to the UAE NADA mobile testing unit (bus with sample collection room and waiting area) and the use of properties in urine and blood sample collection. Students had a chance to practice the sample collection procedure.
Vice Chancellor for Quality & Global Engagement and Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Prof. Sherief Khalifa commented: “The next step in our partnership with UAE NADA will include field visits by our students to sporting events with UAE NADA officers to receive first-hand experience on antidoping in sports. We are very proud of this partnership”.
