GMU’s Dr. Ahmad El Ouweini Speaks at the 8th Annual GCC Pharmacy Congress

On October 30, 2021, Dr. Ahmad El Ouweini, Clinical Lecturer, College of Pharmacy, Gulf Medical University & Clinical Preceptor/Pharmacist, Thumbay University Hospital, presented in the annual GCC Pharmacy Congress on: “Evidence-based Anticoagulation Therapy in COVID-19 Patients”.

During his presentation, he shared the existing controversies around anticoagulation strategies in COVID-19 patients and showed the final recommendations for optimizing patient care according to the latest evidence available.

The annual GCC pharmacy congress takes place in October of every year. This year, it was held virtually and hosted more than 2500 delegates from around the globe and 20+ pharmacy experts from different practice fields. This congress focuses on the latest technologies used to improve healthcare outcomes, highlight key solutions to the challenges facing the profession in our region and covers a variety of topics including leadership, pharmacoeconomics, pharmacy automation and technology updates, oncology, cardiology, asthma, migraine, pain management, general pharmacotherapy and more.
