GMU Master of Science in Drug Discovery and Development Student Dalia Receives Flow Cytometry Hands on Training at NAWAH Scientific

Between July 31st and August 5th, 2021, Ms. Dalia Al Saeedy, Master of Science in Drug Discovery and Development (MDD) student, traveled to Cairo, Egypt and worked with NAWAH Scientific, one of the partners of Gulf Medical University, College of Pharmacy. She had the opportunity to complete part of her own thesis work and underwent training for various other laboratory procedures, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Gouda.

Dalia commented, “It was interesting to observe how a private research lab operated in the real world in comparison to one that belonged to an educational institute. I was able to familiarize myself and work with equipment I hadn’t worked with before and applied my knowledge in conducting new experiments. I also observed other lab members’ experiments and noted the different techniques used to conduct similar experiments I had previously conducted before, which gave me a different perspective.”
