On 28th of June 2021, Gulf Medical University (GMU), signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Bradford (UoB), UK, to promote collaboration in research activities, seminars and student exchange.

The MoU was signed by Prof. Hossam Hamdy, the Chancellor of GMU and Professor Shirley Congdon, Vice-Chancellor of the UoB.
According to the MoU, GMU and UoB will collaborate in the form of exchange of staff as guest speakers, Joint supervision and co-supervision of postgraduate students, joint research collaboration(s), knowledge transfer and student exchange.
Three Faculty from the UoB, including the director of Institute of Cancer Therapeutics, presented research seminars in the College of Pharmacy Seminar series during the academic year 20/21. Furthermore, Dr. Steve Shnyder from the Institute of Cancer Therapeutics, UoB is an advisory board member for the Masters of Drug Discovery and Development program of the College of Pharmacy, GMU.
Prof. Sherief Khalifa, Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Vice Chancellor for Quality & Global Engagement commented: “This is yet another partnership with a reputable university providing opportunities for our Master of Science in Drug Discovery & Development students to conduct their research training in both campuses taking advantage of research facilities and expertise across both institutions”.
