On November 23, 2020, Dr. Jumana Al-Salloum, Clinical Preceptor at COP, on November 23rd contributed to the ACCP EDTR PRN Newsletter Fall 2020 edition with a focused article on experiential education. The article displayed an example of conducting an APPE rotation through distance learning mode, highlighting the challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic and the increased efforts required in preparation and delivery of a virtual rotation. Dr. Jumana discussed the scenarios encountered during delivering an acute care rotation through distance learning mode and shared the GMU experience in delivering and assessing clinical skills virtually insuring fulfillment of the rotation outcomes. The newsletter is part of the Education and Training Practice Research Network as part of American College of Clinical Pharmacy networks and covers a wide variety of topics, including Member Spotlights, Teaching Pearls, and updates from the Virtual Annual Meeting.
