GMU College of Pharmacy coordinates a Webinar on Interprofessional Care in Diabetes Mellitus

The interprofessional education committee at GMU is chaired by a member of the College of Pharmacy. The Committee conducted a Webinar on Interprofessional Care in Diabetes Mellitus on September 05, 2020. Healthcare professionals and students from different disciplines across the UAE attended the webinar.

GMU/TUH experts from five health professions share evidence-based collaborative care approaches in the management of diabetes mellitus;

Interprofessional care is a collaborative practice approach for a harmonious process of patientcare. Great teamwork results in better patient outcomes and more efficient healthcare processes. Managing diabetes mellitus is challenging, the expertise of professionals from different health professions are required to provide integrated care. This webinar demonstrates how Gulf Medical University/Thumbay University Hospital (TUH) professionals from Dental, Medical, Nursing, Pharmacy and Physiotherapy backgrounds work together in managing patients with diabetes mellitus.
