
Colombo Conference on Medical Education 2019 was conducted in Galadari Hotel, Colombo, Sri Lanka on November 14-15, 2019. The theme of the Conference was “Transforming Health Professions Education to Develop Professional Identity”. The development of professional identity is recognized as a vital and integral component of health professions education. In current times however, fostering professionalism among trainees in the health professions can be a challenging task. The Colombo Conference on Medical Education 2019 explored how health professions education can be transformed to effectively achieve this paramount goal of developing professional identity among the future generations of healthcare professionals.
Dr. Dixon presented a poster and an oral presentation titled as follows;
- Pharmacy students’ reflections on achievement of clinical guidelines-related learning outcomes
- Action Plans to improve professional identity with the use of specific clinical guidelines
The Conference was fruitful event with exchange of ideas between different health professions to work together and develop professional identity. Cases from different parts of the world especially, UK, Australia, Singapore, UAE, and Sri Lanka were discussed.
