Dr. Lana Hammad is the Pharmacy Director of Sheikh Khalifa General Hospital, Umm Al Quwain conducted two workshops at GMU for the PharmD and Master in Clinical Pharmacy students;
- October 05: Patient Safety & Quality Assurance needs in healthcare workshop with discussions on cases of ADEs, interpretation, classification, and reporting.
- October 19: Medication Errors workshop with case scenario discussions followed by a concluding lecture on strategies to improve patient safety from your experience.
The sessions were interactive with small group discussions and problem-solving exercises. Working on these practice-based exercises complimented to student learning and their preparedness for practice.
Dean Sherief Khalifa thanked Dr. Lana for her contribution to the pharmacy profession and her commitment to sharing her expertise with pharmacy students and pharmacists. Such academic-practice collaborations are essential to produce pharmacists who will move the profession to new frontiers.
