Dr. Wael Mohamed Talaat Taha

Dr. Wael Taha is an accomplished Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon with extensive experience in both academic and clinical settings. He completed his Bachelor’s of Dental Surgery from Cairo University in 1997 and went on to earn an MSc in Oral Surgery and Oral Pathology from Suez Canal University in 2003. He completed his Doctorate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery through a joint supervision program between Suez Canal University in Egypt and Duke University in the United States in 2008.
Dr. Taha’s professional experience includes serving as a lecturer of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Suez Canal University, where he managed an outpatient clinic and performed major and minor surgeries under both local and general anesthesia. He also worked as an Assistant Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Dammam University in Saudi Arabia and as an Assistant Professor at the College of Dental Medicine at the University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.
At the University of Sharjah, Dr. Taha is currently an Associate Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, where he lectures undergraduate courses, conducts research with a focus on Temporomandibular disorders, and practices clinically at the undergraduate teaching clinics and the Center of Excellence to serve the community. Additionally, he serves as an academic advisor for undergraduate students, helping them navigate university policies and regulations.
Dr. Taha has also completed a Fellowship in Research in Plastic, Reconstructive, Maxillofacial, and Oral Surgery at Duke University, where he attended major oral and maxillofacial surgeries, conducted research at Kenan Plastic Surgery Research laboratories, and assisted in the clinical training of students at Duke University. He is certified in Temporomandibular Joint Diagnostic and Operative Arthroscopy and passed the United States National Board Dental Examinations. Finally, Dr. Taha has worked as a dentist in private practice since 1998.
