Students from the Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management and Economics (BSc.HME) program at Gulf Medical University participated in a specialized workshop on Medical Insurance Coding on October 29, 2024. Ms. Arivu Paramasivam, a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) and Team Lead of Resubmission Insurance at the Medical Insurance Department of Thumbay University Hospital conducted the workshop. Ms. Paramasivam provided comprehensive training on medical insurance coding, offering students valuable insights into the practical aspects of coding in the healthcare industry. Her expertise helped students understand the critical role of accurate coding in medical insurance and healthcare management. She also offered career guidance, highlighting pathways and opportunities for those aspiring to become medical insurance coding specialists. The event was organized under the guidance of course faculty Dr. Najeb Masoud. Dr. Masoud and the academic team are committed to integrating practical experiences like this workshop into the curriculum to enhance student learning and prepare them for successful careers in healthcare management.
