Gulf Medical University Students Excel in Summer Apprenticeship at Thumbay University Hospital

In an inspiring showcase of practical knowledge and skill, students from the Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management & Economics program at the Thumbay College of Management and AI in Healthcare, Gulf Medical University, completed a transformative apprenticeship at Thumbay University Hospital (TUH). This summer term program, from June 10, 2024, to July 15, 2024, enabled second-year students to engage deeply with the healthcare industry’s multifaceted environment.

Under the adept guidance of Dr. Omar Nabi at TUH, and course coordinator Dr. Najeb Masoud, the students immersed themselves in various critical hospital departments. Their apprenticeship included intensive training in the Outpatient Department, Marketing, and Quality Assurance, along with specialized exposure to Peripheral Arterial Disease and peripheral vascular disease management and the pivotal role of Housekeeping in hospital operations.

The program culminated in a capstone presentation in which the students demonstrated their newly acquired expertise and shared insights gained from their real-world experiences. Their presentations reflected a deep understanding of healthcare’s clinical and administrative aspects, emphasizing the integration of quality assurance with everyday hospital management.
