The Quality Assurance and Program Evaluation Committee, College of Dentistry, Gulf Medical University organized a faculty development session on ‘Emerging Trends in Assessment in Health Professions Education’ on the 16th of September 2022. The session titled ‘Emerging trends in assessment of Future Health Professionals’ was presented by Dr. Mohamed M. Al-Eraky, Associate Professor of Medical Education, Program Director of Masters in Health Professions Education Program, College of Medicine, GMU, explaining the rationale of two further dimensions ‘Is’ and ‘Do’ to the Miller’s pyramid, Assessment Orbits framework to assess students as individuals and in teams and the importance of the cultural context in assessment. Overall it was a well-received learning session.
