An orientation program for year 1 DMD students was conducted on the 16th of September, 2020 by the College of Dentistry, Gulf Medical University. The students were welcomed and addressed by the respected Dean, College of Dentistry, Prof. Hesham Marei and by the Associate Dean Academics, Dr. Walid Elsayed on the challenges of learning during the new normal and assurance in providing a seamless transition of education.
Students were oriented by Ms. Burcu, Associate Director, Department of Students Affairs on various student activities. Mr.Suraj Sebastian, E-learning manager and IT lecturer explained the e-learning platform, Moodle. Mr. Daies Idiculla, Librarian, GMU oriented students to their access to the various e-books and e-journal resources. An online google meet link was available for students and parents.
