Gulf Medical University hosted the White Coat Ceremony, a time honored tradition, for Year 1 BDS students on the 14th of September, 2023, marking the formal initiation into their academic journey.
The ceremony took place in the august presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Dr. Thumbay Moideen, the Honorable President of Thumbay Group; respected Prof. Hossam Hamdy, Chancellor; Prof. Manda Venkataramana, Vice Chancellor Academics, Prof. Hesham Marei, Dean of the College of Dentistry, Dr. Walid Elsayed, Associate Dean of Academics, Prof. Hossam Abdelatty, Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs and Dr. Danavanthi Bangera, Medical Director, Thumbay Dental Hospital, Ajman.
Ms. Shahd Alshehhi and Mr. Ali Ghobashy, representing the first-year BDS students, received their white coats on stage from the Honorable President, Dr. Thumbay Moideen. This symbolic gesture signifies the students’ commitment to the principles of professionalism, ethics, and patient care that are integral to their future roles as dental healthcare providers.
The event was made accessible to a wider audience through a live broadcast on YouTube, allowing faculty and proud parents to witness this significant milestone.
