GMU’s College of Dentistry Organized a Workshop on Digital Implant Prosthetics by Prof. Amr Elkhdem

The College of Dentistry, Gulf Medical University, successfully conducted a comprehensive workshop titled “Digital Workflow in Implant Prosthetics: Applications, Potentials, and Useful Tips” on the 18th of April 2025 in collaboration with its industry partners Alliedstar, a company known for developing digital dentistry solutions and Truemed, distributor of professional medical and dental equipment and services. The session was led by Prof. Amr Hosny Mostafa Elkhdem, Professor of Prosthodontics, Faculty of Dentistry, Cairo University, Egypt.

Targeted toward MDS Periodontics postgraduates, dental interns, and faculty members, the event featured both lectures and a hands-on practical session. The lectures focused on the application of intraoral (IO) scans in preimplant planning, digital temporization protocols, and final prosthetic workflows for single and full-arch cases. Furthermore, the participants engaged in a live scanning workshop gaining firsthand experience with digital tools used in implant prosthetics.

The event reflected the college’s commitment to integrating technological advances into dental education and clinical practice.
