As part of Gulf Medical University’s initiative to promote early awareness of healthcare professions, the College of Dentistry (CoD) hosted a two-day orientation program on the 1st and 3rd of July 2025, conducted under the “Introduction to Health Professional Careers” course and organized by the Thumbay Institute of Clinical Simulation and Surgical Skills.

Dr. Ranya Elemam, Coordinator of the Career Advising Program, CoD, led the sessions by offering an overview of dentistry as a career, highlighting its various specialties and explaining the academic routes and qualifications needed to enter the profession.
One of the most engaging components of the program was the hands-on activity held in the simulation dental lab, where students had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with dental tools and practice basic clinical techniques under the guidance of clinical instructors; Dr. Noura Teyah Hussein, Dr. Vaishnavi Mohan, and Dr. Mona Ghaleb Al-Ardah, providing them with a realistic glimpse into the world of dental practice.
At the conclusion of the two-day program, feedback was collected from the students and all participants were presented with certificates for their active engagement.
