College of Dentistry, Gulf Medical University (GMU) hosted an informative celebration of Oral Wellness and Dental Hygiene Day on the 19th of October 2023 in collaboration with Curaprox. The event, aimed at raising awareness about the importance of oral health, and witnessed an active participation of 110 students and faculty from various colleges within the university.
During the event, dental students took on the role of educators, guiding participants through the correct steps of tooth brushing by using a “touch to teach” technique, emphasizing the importance of technique and precision in maintaining oral health. Interactions on the significance of oral hygiene and preventive measures were carried out with the help of dental quizzes, fun facts and spin the wheel like activities which kept participants engaged and offered a chance to win prizes.
The Oral Wellness and Dental Hygiene Day was more than just a celebration; it was an opportunity to transform the way we approach oral health. By involving our students in educating the community, we create a ripple effect of knowledge and awareness.
