As part of the Faculty Development Program series, the Quality Assurance and Program Effectiveness Committee of the College of Dentistry, Gulf Medical University, organized a faculty development workshop on Interprofessional Education (IPE) on the 27th of February 2025. The session was facilitated by Dr. Sabrin Ali Azim, Associate Professor of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, and focused on integrating IPE into dental education, enhancing collaborative practice, and aligning curricula with global accreditation standards.
Faculty members actively engaged in case-based learning, exploring the role of interdisciplinary teamwork in patient care, particularly in complex cases such as pediatric dentistry and oral & maxillofacial trauma. The workshop highlighted the importance of collaboration among healthcare professionals to enhance patient outcomes.
