Prof. Walid Elsayed led a workshop on “Assessment: Question Banks” as part of the Faculty Development Program organized by the Department of Health Professions Education (HPE), College of Medicine, Gulf Medical University, on 18th June 2025.
The session emphasized the significance of constructing high-quality question banks to support effective student assessment. Prof. Walid guided participants through key principles of question design, with a focus on developing a test blueprint for constructive alignment, ensuring that assessments are closely aligned with learning outcomes. The workshop also included thoughtful discussions on GMU’s grading and assessment policies, and shared best practices, promoting a collaborative environment for continuous improvement in academic evaluation.
