College of Dentistry, conducted a seminar and workshop on the 25th and 26th of January 2019 titled “Complete endodontics made easy – At a glance”. A total of 99 participants registered for the Seminar and 24 participants registered for the workshop. A workshop on single file system for preparation of root canal was conducted in our state-of-the-art Phantom Head Lab. The responses recorded were very positive.
“The lectures were good and organized well. I would like to participate in workshops on complications of endodontic treatment like broken instruments and more about Endo surgery” said Dr Jameela Mohammed Alawadhi, Director, RAK Specialized Dental Center, MOH.
College of Dentistry, Gulf Medical University is the only college offering DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine) program in the U A E. The Doctor of Dental medicine (DMD) program is a competency-based model of education with the Program learning outcomes aligned to American Dental Association (ADA) and American Dental Education Association (ADEA). The program received Full Accreditation from Ministry of Education, UAE, in 2018.
The College of Dentistry is well equipped with a state of the art Dental Simulation Lab, Wax lab and Phantom Head lab which are used for pre-clinical teaching and assessment purposes. Clinical phase training is fulfilled in Thumbay Dental Hospital which is equipped with 61 dental units. College of Dentistry also offers Dental Internship Program. Masters of Dental Surgery (MDS) in Periodontics and Endodontics are intended to provide future pathways for all Dental graduates in their own alma mater.
