Dr. Bhavna Jha Kukreja, Program Director of MDS Periodontics Program at the College of Dentistry, Gulf Medical University, presented her research titled “Periodontal Ligament Stem Cells Obtained by Tissue-Explant and Enzyme-Digestion Methods: A Comparative Study” at the Pan European Regional Congress of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR/PER) General Session held from 25th June to 28th June in Barcelona, Spain.
The study compares two widely used techniques for isolating stem cells from the periodontal ligament, tissue explant and enzyme digestion highlighting their effectiveness and cell viability. The findings contribute to optimizing stem cell-based regenerative therapies aimed at restoring periodontal tissues, making it a valuable addition to the evolving field of clinical periodontology.
Her research emphasized the importance of translational science in advancing patient-centered care and innovation in periodontal regeneration.
