In continuation to the Faculty Development Program series, the Quality Assurance and Program Effectiveness Committee of the College of Dentistry, GMU organized a faculty development session on ‘Flipped Classroom Pedagogy’ on the 8th of March 2024. The session was facilitated by Dr. Pooja Adtani, Head, Department of Basic Medical and Dental Sciences, CoD.

Dr. Pooja highlighted the concept of flipped classroom model, comparing it with traditional teaching methods, and discussed its potential strengths and challenges. A significant aspect of the session involved designing flipped learning activities tailored to dental courses. Dr. Pooja also emphasized on the principle of constructive alignment, ensuring that course objectives, learning activities, and assessments are seamlessly integrated to enhance learning outcomes for dental students.
The workshop concluded with faculty reflection on key insights and action points, to integrate flipped learning strategies into their teaching practices.
