College of Dentistry Organised a Career Advising Session on The Future of Orthodontics: From Passion to Profession

The College of Dentistry, Gulf Medical University (GMU) conducted a career advising session titled “The Future of Orthodontics: From Passion to Profession” on the 7th of May 2025 for dental students, interns, and alumni. The session was facilitated by Dr. Ayman Khalifa, Associate Professor of Orthodontics, CoD.

Dr. Ayman provided a comprehensive overview of the NIHS-accredited Residency in Orthodontics Program offered at GMU, detailing its structure across six semesters over three years, with an emphasis on 80% clinical training and the remaining didactic modules. The session also covered the core faculty involved, curriculum layout, and clinical exposure.

An engaging discussion followed on admission requirements and the key distinctions between the residency and master’s programs in orthodontics. Overall, the event offered valuable insights for students exploring orthodontics as a career path.
