The College of Dentistry, Gulf Medical University organized an insightful Career Advising Session titled “Pursuing a PhD: Opportunities in Australia“, on the 30th of April 2025. The session was facilitated by Dr. Srinivas S. Ramachandra, Assistant Professor of Periodontics, CoD.
Dr. Srinivas discussed various types of PhD programs, key differences between the Global North and South, and outlined the structured application process via Graduate Research Schools. He also highlighted scholarship opportunities, including strategies to strengthen one’s CV and enhance scholarship prospects. A practical flowchart explaining the step-by-step application journey added further clarity.
Additionally, attendees also gained valuable insights into common challenges faced during the application process and effective ways to navigate them.
