College of Dentistry, GMU in collaboration with BIOLASE organized a workshop on ‘Laser Applications in Periodontics’ for MDS Periodontics postgraduates and dental interns on the 18th of December 2022. The workshop included a brief introduction on the principles of laser therapy followed by a demonstration on the use of ‘Waterlase’ to perform various periodontal surgical procedures such as gingivectomy, frenectomy, gingival depigmentation and crown lengthening with osseous reduction. The participants were also provided with an opportunity to have hands on experience with the Waterlase laser device on goat heads.
