College of Dentistry Hosts School Students for Career Orientation Under GMU’s Introduction to Health Professional Careers Course

As part of Gulf Medical University’s initiative to promote early career awareness, the Introduction to Health Professional Careers Course is designed to introduce high school students to various healthcare professions through interactive, hands-on experiences across GMU’s colleges.

In line with this initiative, the College of Dentistry (CoD) successfully conducted a two-day orientation and learning visit on the 24th and 25thof March 2025. The event was organized by the Center for Advanced Simulation in Healthcare (CASH).

Dr. Ranya Elemam, Coordinator, Career Advising Program, CoD, facilitated the session, introducing students to the world of dentistry. She provided insights into dentistry as a profession, the various dental specialties, and guided students on the academic pathways and requirements to pursue a dental career.

The orientation was followed by an engaging hands-on activity in the simulation dental lab, where students had the opportunity to explore basic dental procedures, dental tools and techniques.

At the conclusion of the two-day program, feedback was collected from the students and all participants were presented with certificates for their active engagement.
