The College of Dentistry, GMU recently conducted a faculty development program on ‘Standard Setting’ on the 24th of May 2023. The program was led by Mr. Sakkir Kunhikariyil, Head of Examinations Department, GMU.
The program aimed to equip faculty members with the necessary tools and knowledge to effectively establish and maintain rigorous academic standards. Faculty members were introduced to various standard setting approaches such Cohen’s Method and EZ Method to ensure consistent and fair evaluation of student performance. They gained insights into the advantages and limitations of each approach and learned how to apply them effectively in their respective teaching disciplines.
