The Student Happiness Center at the College of Dentistry (CoD), Gulf Medical University (GMU), organized a career advising session titled “Elevate Your General Practice: The Pathway to Implant Privilege“ on the 26th of February 2025. The session was delivered by Prof. Walid Elsayed, Associate Dean and BDS Program Director, and was attended by 4th and 5th year BDS students, interns, and alumni.

A key focus of the session was the introduction of the new Clinical Certificate in Dental Implantology offered by CoD, GMU. The one-year program aims to equip general dentists and specialists with the necessary knowledge and hands-on skills to perform dental implant procedures safely and effectively, in line with high standards of patient care and ethical practice. The session provided insights into the admission criteria for the certification program, coursework, along with the National Institute for Health Specialties (NIHS) requirements, which form the foundation of the certification process.
This session served as a valuable platform for participants to understand the professional pathways available for gaining implant privileges and certification.
