On June 25–26, 2025, Thumbay College of Management and AI in Healthcare, Gulf Medical University (GMU), Ajman, UAE, in association with Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), University of Delhi, India, successfully organized a Two-Day International Conference on “AI for Social Impact: Transforming Business, Healthcare, and Policy for Sustainable Development.”
More than sixty brilliant minds (carefully selected) from four continents, representing 37 international institutions, unrolled their scrolls of imagination, daring to imagine what AI could — and should — do for humanity. Keynote speakers roared like thunder, challenging us to look beyond the sterile glow of the algorithm. Panelists battled in high-stakes debates, where the truth felt as fragile as a phoenix egg about to hatch. And in those fleeting, fierce moments, I saw stories being born — stories of hope, rebellion, and stories that might save us from our worst instincts.
It was also an honor to receive inaugural video addresses from Shri Om Birla, Hon’ble Speaker of the Lok Sabha, and Shri Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Government of India. The event further received congratulatory support from Smt. Rekha Gupta, Hon’ble Chief Minister of the Government of NCT of Delhi.
Over the course of the two-day event, several presentations were delivered across three technical sessions, with thematic discussions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Key focus areas included AI in Education, Healthcare, Policy Making, and Social Good, offering valuable insights into the transformative potential of AI in advancing sustainable development.
The conference was graced by several eminent dignitaries, including H.E. Shri Sudhir Sunjay, Ambassador of India to the UAE; Eng. Prince Abubakar Yahaya Abubakar, from the State of Niger, Nigeria; Dr. Thumbay Moideen, Founder President of Thumbay Group; Prof. Simrit Kaur, Principal of Shri Ram College of Commerce; Prof. Manda Venkatramana, Acting Chancellor of Gulf Medical University; and other distinguished academicians from leading universities across the globe.
