TCMAIH Alumni Honored for Outstanding Contributions at GMU Alumni Meet 2025

The Gulf Medical University (GMU) Alumni Meet celebrated the remarkable achievements of its graduates, recognizing their outstanding research contributions in the field of healthcare. Thumbay College of Management and AI in Healthcare (TCMAIH) awardees Dr. Sami Mana Ahmad Bin Ahmad, Maisoon Isam Abdulaziz Aledwan (Community Engagement), Aaesha Saleh Yousef Mohammed Alshehhi (Community Engagement), and Hend Mohammad Sultan Hannawi Alketbi (Leadership) were felicitated for their accomplishments while pursuing his successful career.

Dr. Sami acknowledged the role and support of the faculty during the COVID-19 pandemic, emphasizing their dedication in ensuring the seamless continuation of education despite unprecedented challenges.

Among the awardees were two distinguished alumni from the Executive Master’s in Healthcare Management and Economics (EMHME) program, honored for their impactful research in hospital administration and physician well-being. One of the recipients, Sahar Gaffar Elhag Ahmed Mohamed, a Clinical Resource Nurse at Sheikh Khalifa General Hospital (ICU) and an Advanced Life Support Trainer with the American Heart Association, was recognized for their research on staff retention in critical care units. Their study, titled “Unlocking Retention: A Prescriptive Framework for Retaining Trained Staff in Critical Care Units,” was successfully published in the Journal of Health Organization and Management (Scopus-Q2, ABDC–B Classified).

Another awardee Dr. Maitha Alkaabi focused on a timely and crucial study examining the coping strategies of physicians during the COVID-19 pandemic. Their research, published in Hospital Topics (Scopus-Q2), explored the mental resilience of healthcare professionals amidst unprecedented challenges.

Both researchers expressed their sincere appreciation to their supervisor, Dr. Jagroop Singh, for his unwavering guidance, encouragement, and support, which played a pivotal role in the success of their research. They also extended their gratitude to Gulf Medical University for fostering an academic environment that integrates knowledge with real-world applications, empowering them to make meaningful contributions to the field.
